Profiles In Paint

"Lust and Bad Breath"
Unleash the Gremlins in your head via paint on canvas, and you will find peace.
Art Therapy pulled me out of a dark place you may find yourself in. Profiles In Paint is solely therapeutic selfishness, so if and when you need it, I hope this helps open the doors and free the Gremlins.
Join me on this journey. You might need this mental GPS to light the way out of your dark places.
THERAPY, HOW IT STARTED

One of my best friends for almost thirty years, coached football with him, a grizzly old goat who is the hardest worker I have ever met made an incredible impression on me. Bill Costello, who is more comfortable with a chainsaw in his hand than a keyboard, and as close to a backwoods mountain man as you would ever imagine called me about fifteen years ago, and in his matter of fact hard ass tone said, "I have cancer"
As it turned out, he had cancer in almost every major organ of his body at the highest stages. That "C" word hit like a death hammer, it seemed like the Old Goat had run his last path.
We were coaching a team that year, and even through chemo, radiation, and finally many surgeries Old Bill would still show up at practice when he could. He stood up on the hill so that when sickness hit him from the chemo he could go behind a car so kids could not see it.
To make a long story and struggle short I will tell you that somehow that tough old goat beat cancer with all odds against him some say it was a miracle others say it was prayer, I believe God didn't want him and the devil would not have him.
Years later, my mother-in-law was dying of cancer my wife and I were visiting her at the hospital on the oncology floor and while standing at the foot of her bed I noticed a painting, the more I looked at it and admired it I began to notice the name of the artist on the bottom of the canvas, "Bill Costello."

"THE OLD GOAT"

The painting and the frame above are The Old Goats work (Bill Costello). It hangs in my office as a reminder that no matter how bad things seem, there is always hope. While fighting cancer, he started to paint. He had never painted anything on canvas in his life, his work now hangs in cancer wards and hospitals.....remarkable talent, a hidden talent that was unleashed after diagnosis.

Mission
The mission of all education is to stimulate thought.
All will face uncertainty and, before we die, deal with bad news. You can stop, drop, and roll, set your hair on fire and freak out.....or find a safe zone and deal with it. This works for me, thanks to The Old Goat.
If this can shed some light in your dark place in those times, mission complete!
At the end of the day, who cares what your work looks like, God is the ultimate artist.
Vision
We all see things, but that doesn't mean you are crazy. Think about it. Have you ever looked at clouds and seen something in the way they are shaped? Hell, all of us have. Our minds work that way, and you can ignore it and say you are nuts, but you know what I am talking about. When I throw oil on canvas, shit begins to appear, yup, just like looking at the clouds, and I embellish it. That is the key to unlocking the gremlins, let those fuckers out! LOL

Cloud formations, what do you see?
So, you are crazy as well!
What do You See?
