Profiles In Paint

"Lust and Bad Breath"
Unleash the Gremlins in your head via paint on canvas, and you will find peace.
Art Therapy pulled me out of a dark place you may find yourself in. Profiles In Paint is solely therapeutic selfishness, so if and when you need it, I hope this helps open the doors and free the Gremlins.
Join me on this journey. You might need this mental GPS to light the way out of your dark places.
WOOD ART
Wood is God's gift to humans.
The "Nots"
Carving wood is an addiction. Revealing the beauty of the grain, working it to shapes and forms, sanding it, and finishing it is pure pleasure. I think of it as 3D painting. Course if you know my paintings you know they are weird, thus my wood work is.....well, different. Allow me to introduce you to the "Nots" family.

Allow me to introduce you to Chuck. He came from that piece of hickory on the left. Now he is bit rough, like to show off his manthing, and his big ears (it is obviously not true what they say about men with big ears looking at ole chuck here). None the less, he turned out to be a pretty piece of wood, one of the Not family.

Bart and "Big Woman" Not
Bart is Old Yellow Pine, a slim womanizer and "Big Woman" is solid black walnut, beautiful and proud. These two Nots are made for each other
The Devil and Ms. Snake.....nope, they not friends.
Even Nots fight

Walnut Sapwood and Padauk inlay....I like it
Yep, do a cutting board or two, shit grows on you. Makes a lot of saw dust, Ms Deb don't like that but likes the boards. African Padauk and Oak...I think. Edge cut, not as good as End Cut but I like it. I make my own wood conditioning for prep

OK....should not have watched the series Vikings....I am in to Viking axes now....love making them. Gifting them to grandkids....YIKES
4' handle, a man weapon, double fisted to even pick it up much less swing. For my son, Matt.
This one is Hickory inlaid with Bloodwood, for my grandson, Dane....oh yeah ;)

The Viper Blade....for my Brother Robert Jackson

My favorite, made it for me, myself and I....the Pecker. Hand-carved Hickory and scorched like a bitch to highlight the rings...not an ax, this is a hatchet and both ends deadly

Dragon Slayer, for my grandson, hickory, Damascus steel and wicket design into the burnt hickory. Bitch to carve but worth it. Snake head end piece on the handle, YIKES

What the hell, started working with leather, first time. Made sheath for the Dragon Hatchet lol for Tucker....More to come!
